Join Us: Volunteer and Internship Opportunities
WeBUILT Wilkes will create meaningful volunteer and internship opportunities once construction begins and residents move in. If you're interested in supporting this community through hands-on involvement, we want to hear from you.
Future Volunteer Opportunities
Although there are limited volunteer opportunities during the fundraising phase, we anticipate needing volunteers in several areas once construction begins:
During Construction
Construction support and skilled trades, landscaping and beautification, property preparation, moving assistance for new residents, and more.
After Move-In
Friendship group facilitation, activity planning and coordination, transportation assistance, community event support, special skills sharing (art, music, cooking, gardening, technology), and administrative support.

Internship Opportunities
WeBUILT Wilkes will partner with local high schools and colleges to provide internship opportunities for students interested in making a difference.
These internships will provide students with hands-on experience working in an innovative housing model while contributing meaningfully to our community.
Human Services
Social work, recreation therapy, occupational therapy, special education, psychology, counseling and more.
Business & Administration
Nonprofit management, community development, event planning, marketing and communications, and more.
Construction & Facilities
Property management, facilities maintenance, landscape design, and more.

Community Impact
"I think people can support this project by doing the research and figuring out how they could provide jobs for people and give them a purpose outside of just living in a house."
— Trevor
Volunteers and interns won't just be helping WeBUILT Wilkes—they'll be learning from our residents, building relationships across differences, and experiencing firsthand what true inclusion looks like.
