We Need Your Support

Meeting a Local Need

An increasing number of individuals are being diagnosed with autism and other disabilities who do not have optimal living situations or supports available to them upon graduating from high school. While largely due to increased awareness and diagnosis, the result is we can anticipate a large number of young adults and families who would benefit from this community. WeBUILT Wilkes offers peace of mind to parents by providing a supportive atmosphere that fosters a sense of belonging and encourages the development of life skills allowing everyone to flourish together.

Someone you know is struggling as they wait for an opportunity to be part of a community that will support their sensory and social needs.

WeBUILT Wilkes represents a $5.7 million investment in independence, dignity, and inclusion.

Why Your Donation Matters

Investing in this project will allow Wilkes County to be part of an initiative that will provide a first-of-its-kind opportunity for residents who have a strong desire to live at their highest level of independence to live in a supportive and stable environment that provides opportunities for social access to their friends, as well as daily living supports for tasks that are difficult for them.

The generosity of supporters who believe adults with disabilities deserve more inclusive housing options brings us closer to groundbreaking.

WeBUILT WILKES will rely on early donations through our non-profit, LivingHope, that will be used very specifically to help offset the cost of the build. Every donation will directly fund the construction, significantly reducing housing costs for individuals with limited resources.

With your support, we can build unique independent lives together!

The Impact of Your Gift

100% of your tax deductible donation will be used to offset WeBUILT Wilkes building costs, ensuring that residents from Wilkes and surrounding areas can take advantage of living their best lives.

"Fundraising is now underway and you guys can give back. The way we can do that is to help lower the cost for these individual homes. It is a great opportunity, it's going to be 100% tax deductible and all those funds go directly to helping these kids and their homes."

— Tabitha Hudler

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. All donations are 100% tax-deductible through LivingHope Corporation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. You'll receive a receipt for your records.

WeBUILT Wilkes is a planned community where members own equal shares through a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC). Similar to a retirement community, the buy-in gives the resident access to a home without individual ownership. Instead of a unit deed, resident representatives hold equal interest in the entire property. Each resident is represented by a parent, guardian or owner on the community board.

The WeBUILT Wilkes LLC will oversee the communities financial responsibilities working closely with LivingHope, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit, who will provide operation oversight and manage the community.

100% of donations go directly to reducing building costs for WeBUILT Wilkes. Every dollar you give lowers the financial burden for families who need this housing option.
